The purpose of the resources listing is to inform interested parents/teachers/health professionals/children of the many resources that are available for use to help bring nutrition, food, lifestyle and health issues into children’s daily lives.

Each resource listed will be accompanied by a brief description of the aims, content and age suitability for the resource, plus producer details, where to obtain copies and likely costs.

Inclusion of a resource on the site in no way suggests that The Health Education Trust (HET), its staff or independent evaluators endorse the resource.

Brief description
‘Eat 2B Fit’ is an interesting booklet teaching children about ‘The Balance of Good Health,’ allowing them to reflect on their eating habits. Provides thorough information for the teacher, more than is required to meet curriculum needs. Includes a variety of activity sheets that can be easily photocopied, aimed at different ages and allows opportunities for class discussion.

‘Focus on Food’ is an educational programme providing pupils with practical ways of learning the National Curriculum. These include ‘cook schools,’ which is a mobile kitchen that travels the country to registered schools providing cooking sessions for small groups of children and educational workshops for teachers.
