Work experience on nutrition projects with the Health Education Trust

HET is offering an opportunity to recently qualified graduates, and those returning to work following a career break, to work on a project basis supporting our nutrition team.

Requirements: The successful candidate(s) will be a registered nutritionist or dietitian, and will be required to work on a self employed basis, either part time, or on an ad hoc/project basis. It is essential that an individual is able to work independently (based from home), this requires motivation and organisation. Being computer literate is crucial, as is access to a computer, the internet and a phone line.

You would be required to carry out specific projects with guidance and support from HET’s nutritionist, Kathryn Styles. Where appropriate, HET, with permission, will reference individuals’ work that is used within our website.

Ideally individuals should be based within relative commuting distance of the Midlands for attending HET meetings, but this is not essential. There may also be a requirement to travel to other locations in the UK, dependant on the project requirements.

Payment: These work placements will be funded, together with reasonable, pre-agreed expenses.

Examples of some of the work that may be required

- Menu analysis and menu development (in line with the School Food Standards)

- Assist with development of nutrition training resources for schools

- Summarising current news topics or relevant journal articles for adding to our website

- Assist us with the redesign of our website: update existing and developing new copy

- Literature review of topics of current interest, with view to publication where possible

If you are interested in a work placement with the HET please ‘click here’ to apply on-line, and forward on your CV and contact details.
